Hello,

I am Sungwon In

a researcher specializing in immersive analytics and human-centered AI systems. I completed my Ph.D. at Virginia Tech under the guidance of Dr. Chris North and co-advisor Dr. Yalong Yang, as part of the Information Visualization group.

Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Northeastern University, working with Dr. Mallesham Dasari. My research is expanding into AI-embedded extended reality (XR) systems, exploring how generative AI can enhance spatial interaction and sensemaking in immersive environments.
